Nightliner rental guide

Everything bands, artists and productions should know before renting a nightliner or tour bus for a tour in Switzerland and across Europe.

    Updated: October 2026

    What is a nightliner?

A nightliner (also called sleeper bus, tour bus or band bus) is a coach converted for touring. Instead of rows of seats it has bunks, a kitchen, a bathroom and lounges for work and rest.

The big advantage: the drive to the next show happens overnight. Band and crew sleep on the road and arrive rested at the next venue. No hotel changes, check-ins or early packing.

    Who is a nightliner for?

A nightliner pays off whenever a group travels for several days in a row and has to be somewhere new every day:

    • Bands and artists on a European tour with back-to-back shows
    • Festival season with overnight stays right at the venue
    • Film, TV and event productions with changing locations
    • Motorsport and sports teams on race weekends
    • VIP travel and special occasions with high comfort requirements

12 or 16 berths: which model fits?

Race-Attack offers two single-deck VIP nightliners with large windows and a high-end interior.

The 12 sleeper has 12 bunks and a comfortable back lounge. It suits smaller bands with a core crew.

The 16 sleeper has 16 bunks, split into one sleeping area with 12 and a separate one with 4 bunks. It suits larger productions or when band and crew should sleep separately.

Both buses have a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, kettle), a bathroom with shower and real toilet (no chemical toilet), an extra shower room, three flat-screen TVs, air conditioning and heating. Every bunk has its own light, power, fan, air conditioning and fresh air.

    Driver, route and planning

Our nightliners are always rented with an experienced professional driver who knows touring in Switzerland and across Europe. You need no bus licence and do not have to drive.

Statutory driving and rest times determine which legs can be driven overnight. We plan the tour together with you so that schedule, venues and rest times fit.

Race-Attack tours Germany, Austria, France and Italy among others, starting from Wiesendangen near Winterthur.

How much does it cost to rent a nightliner?

There is no flat price because every tour is different. The main factors are:

    • Length of the tour and number of driving days
    • Route, countries and distances between venues
    • Model: 12 sleeper or 16 sleeper
    • Extras such as tour crew or equipment transport by truck

    Add equipment transport and crew

For backline and larger equipment loads there is the Race-Attack truck with around 70 m³ of cargo space and a 2.5-tonne tail lift. It also carries up to three vehicles.

We also provide an experienced tour crew: tour manager, guitar and drum techs, sound and light engineers and merchandise. All tour logistics from one source.
